EXAM NAME (EXAM PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS)

Instructions: The patient should not have any barium contrast studies 24 hours prior to the exam.

Instructions: Patients should hold blood pressure medicine the day of the test.

Instructions: Patient should have nothing to eat or drink 8 hours prior to the exam. No Propulsid or other gastric motility medications should be taken three days prior to the exam.

Instructions: This exam should be scheduled within the first ten days after the beginning of the patients’ menstrual cycle. Patients are to abstain from sexual intercourse until after the exam.

Instructions: The patient should have nothing to eat or drink 4 hours to 6 hours prior to the exam. As well, the patient should not have any barium studies 24 hours prior to the exam.

Instructions: Patients should hold lasix on the day of the test if lasix is taken daily.

Instructions: The patient should have nothing to eat or drink for 8 hours. No blood pressure medicines the day of the exam. No nitrates the day of the exam. Wear comfortable clothes the day of the exam. No caffine 24 hours prior to scan.

Important Note: All other tests do not require a preparation. In the event you have an exam that is not listed above our staff will advise you if it requires a preparation.
