Fluoroscopy – Preparations

EXAM NAME (EXAM PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS)

ARTHROGRAM
Instructions: Since some joint discomfort may occur, bring a friend or a relative who can drive you home.
 Instructions: Patient should have nothing by mouth after midnight. Medications may be taken with a little water if needed.

Instructions: Nothing to eat or drink after midnight before the exam. Patient may take medications with small amounts of water.

Instructions: Patient must be between 7-12 days of cycle, Must abstain from intercourse from the beginning of day 1 of menstrual cycle, absolutely no bleeding or spotting day of procedure, May take Advil or Tylenol before exam to help with discomfort.

Instructions: AM appointment – nothing to eat or drink after midnight. PM appointment – nothing to eat or drink 2 hours prior to exam.

Instructions: Patient takes a capsule. No laxatives over the next 5 days. Patient returns on 5th day for an x-ray of the abdomen.
Instructions: Nothing to eat or drink after midnight before the exam. Patient may take medications with small amounts of water. Study must be scheduled in the morning.

Important Note: All other tests do not require a preparation. In the event you have an exam that is not listed above our staff will advise you if it requires a preparation.
